auxillary bishop
   This term (from the Latin auxilium, meaning "aid" or "help") refers to a bishop who is ordained to help or aid the bishop or ordinary of a diocese. Large dioceses may have several auxiliary bishops, each of whom has charge of a specific region or ministry in that diocese.
